Want to know why a contract is so important when conducting business? In order for a contract to hold water in a courtroom it should have these key ingredients first; a) offer and acceptance, b) consideration, c) a meeting of the minds regarding the legal subject of the contract and last but not least, d) legal capacity. In this Ask the Expert session, you will learn what goes into creating a legally binding contract, the different forms of contracts, and how to keep from getting burned.

Henry Katz has served for 6 years as Commercial Counsel for Verizon under Dan Solomon, supporting the Sales Team in the Small-Medium Business space in driving revenue. Other responsibilities include, resolving Executive Escalations, responding to RFP's and handling emergency Transfer of Service requests in connection with permanent and temporary restraining orders. Prior to joining Verizon, I was the Deputy General Counsel of Broadview Networks for 20 years (now Windstream Communications) supporting Sales in driving revenue, as well as, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of legal documents. 

 



Dan Solomon is Senior Managing Associate General Counsel, providing legal support to the B2B sales teams at Verizon. He concentrates on the small and medium business space for both wireless and wireline products and services. Dan received a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Verizon, Dan was Senior Corporate Counsel at Virgin Mobile and then Sprint Corp. after Sprint's acquisition of Virgin Mobile. Before Sprint and Virgin Mobile, Dan was in private practice, including as an intellectual property attorney at Kenyon & Kenyon in New York City.



Nick is a Managing Associate General Counsel at Verizon in the company’s Consumer Group. Nick maintains a broad, commercial agreement and regulatory compliance practice at Verizon that involves drafting and negotiating agreements involving digital advertising, software and technology as well as advising on regulatory compliance issues.  Prior to joining Verizon, Nick worked at various international law firms in New York City.

Nick received his JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School and his BA (biology) from Rutgers University.
